WTF? Why didn’t anyone tell me this before? I love maps!

SERIOUSLY - WHY NOT? WE HAVE THIS ONE LIFE TO TRY SHIT. AT THE VERY LEAST WE WILL LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT OURSELVES. AND AT THE VERY MOST WE WILL REACH OUR GOALS - WHATEVER THEY MAY BE!

I used to feel so much fear and anxiety over all my big and small dreams that me crying silently on my kid’s floor while they fell asleep was not an unlikely scene.

If I can turn this around, you can too. 


Here’s what I found out.

The fact that you don’t have “a room of your own” isn't the problem.


Your pick ups and drops offs and soccer games are not the problem.  

Your partner not picking up their stupid socks is also not the problem. Although WHY - why can’t they just pick them up already?!


The real problem is our own minds 

When left unattended

Our own minds talk back to us like the meanest, most drunk girl at the high school mixer that we didn’t want to go to anyway 


Destructive and scary. For sure a bully. A Drunk. Teenage. Bully. Even if we are no longer supposed to use that word - this is exactly what your brain can turn into. A Straight-Up. Drunk. BULLY!

“You’re not good enough to even write a thank you letter weirdo, much less a memoir! You know everyone thinks this little project of yours is silly right? Want a beer?”

“Her partner is supportive. And rich. And can fix a cabinet. Too bad you’re stuck with this creep.”

“You are a terrible mom. You should be helping your kids with something, anything - instead of painting alone in your studio. How dare you.”

You know what I’m talking about.

Here’s some truth for you: that drunk bully part of our brain is a real thing. 

And it is wired to seek out problems and 

find ways our lives come up ummm…short.

It’s designed to alarm us really.

But the good news is, we can learn to manage it, have control over it. Be ON TO IT!


You feel afraid and overwhelmed now only because 


NO ONE EVER TAUGHT YOU TO QUESTION THAT DRUNK BULLY VOICE, 

or told you that MANAGING IT WAS A POSSIBILITY.
